We are happy that through the Family Art Guide Days events and the โ€œFRACTURE 2025โ€ exhibition, we presented our new program in a long-term collaboration with the National Museum โ€œHouse of Leaves.โ€

This program is led by Professor Carmela Rosiello with a team of young artists including Merisa Hasrama, Kristjan Demรงe, Majlinda Dedaj, and others. The project is directed by Ardian Isufi, curated by Elton Koritaru, and was born from the desire to make the history of the House of Leaves in Tirana โ€” today the Museum of State Security Surveillance โ€” accessible even to younger audiences, a place where the past speaks of denied freedoms, silence, and courage.

Through the voice of Mia, a curious and sensitive little girl, young visitors are guided on a journey through time to discover, in a simple yet authentic language, what happened during the communist period in Albania, when freedom of speech and privacy were systematically denied.

Each room of the museum is transformed into a storytelling and interactive stop, featuring activities, games, and reflections designed with an educational approach: searching for the hidden โ€œbugsโ€ throughout the museum, painting rooms without spies, learning about propaganda, and understanding the value of human rights.

Family Art Guide, with visual illustrations and animations, is therefore an engaging and interactive journey designed especially for children and parents. This educational experience offers families a unique opportunity to explore the โ€œHouse of Leavesโ€ Museum through info points, tablets, games, questions, creative tools, and narratives adapted for different age groups.

The project aims to promote intergenerational learning about the history of dictatorship and human rights through an inclusive, understandable, and reflective approach. This week, Family Art Guides is also launching another educational tool dedicated to our cultural heritage of castles and fortresses, becoming a nationwide and unique instrument for bringing Albanian and foreign children and families closer to the art and culture of our people.

Family Art Guides in the House of Leaves is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports as part of a long-term and nationwide program.
