A Journey Through Stories, Music, Architecture, and Imagination at the Cube Palace
What happens when a museum visit becomes an adventure?
At The Cube Palace, we believe that culture is best experienced through curiosity, discovery, and play. That is why we created an illustrated guide designed especially for children and families, transforming a museum visit into an interactive journey through some of Albania’s most important cultural figures.
The guide follows young explorers as they discover the fascinating world of the iconic “Pallati me Kuba” (Cube Palace), an architectural landmark designed by architect Maks Velo. Behind its distinctive façade lies a remarkable story that connects architecture, literature, music, and art.
Through the guide, children meet four extraordinary personalities who once shaped the cultural life of Albania:
- Maks Velo, the visionary architect and artist whose bold creativity left a lasting mark on Tirana.
- Feim Ibrahimi, the pioneering composer who brought innovation and modernity to Albanian music.
- Ismail Kadare, Albania’s most internationally acclaimed writer, whose works introduced Albanian literature to readers around the world.
- Dritëro Agolli, the beloved poet and novelist whose words continue to inspire generations.
To celebrate the launch of the guide, children from @qendra_e_edukimit_per_femije participated in a special treasure hunt inspired by Princess Argjiro. Hidden clues were scattered throughout the museum, encouraging participants to observe, explore, and engage with the stories around them. The young explorers solved every challenge with enthusiasm and discovered the hidden treasure in record time.
The adventure continued with Argjiro’s immersive VR experience, allowing children to step inside history and experience heritage in a completely new and engaging way.
More than a guidebook, this project aims to create meaningful cultural experiences for children and families. Through storytelling, games, activities, and exploration, young visitors are encouraged to connect with museums not as passive observers, but as active participants in discovering Albania’s cultural heritage.
We are also delighted that The Cube Palace is now part of Family Art Guides, a growing initiative dedicated to making museums and cultural sites more accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for children and families.
The day reminded us that museums are not only places where history is preserved—they are places where imagination comes alive.
✨ A day filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and unforgettable memories.
