House Of Leaves

We are pleased that through the events of Family Art Guide Days and the exhibition “FRAKTURA 2025”, we presented our new program in a long-term collaboration with the National Museum “The House of Leaves”.

This program is led by Professor Carmela Rosiello with a team of young artists consisting of Merisa Hasrama, Kristjan Demçe, Majlinda Dedaj, etc. The project is directed by Ardian Isufi and curated by Elton Koritaru and is born from the desire to make the history of the House of Leaves in Tirana, today the Museum of Surveillance of the State Security, more accessible to the youngest; a place where the past speaks of denied freedoms, silence, but also courage.

Through the voice of Mia, a curious and sensitive little girl, young visitors are guided on a journey through time to discover, with simple but authentic language, what happened during the communist period in Albania, when freedom of speech and privacy were systematically denied.

Each room of the museum is transformed into a narrative and interactive stop with activities, games, and reflections designed according to an educational approach: searching for the “bugs” hidden everywhere in the museum, painting rooms without informers, recognizing propaganda, and understanding the value of human rights.

Family Art Guide, with visual illustrations and animations, is therefore an interactive and engaging journey, designed especially for children and parents. This educational experience offers families a rare opportunity to explore the “House of Leaves” Museum through info points, tablets, games, questions, creative tools, and narratives tailored for different age groups.

The project aims to foster intergenerational learning about the history of dictatorship and human rights, through an inclusive, understandable, and reflective method. Family Art Guides also launches this week another didactic instrument dedicated to our cultural heritage of castles and fortresses, becoming a nationwide instrument unique of its kind for bringing Albanian and foreign children and families closer to the art and culture of our people.

Family Art Guides in the House of Leaves is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport in a long-term program in time and territory

Propaganda Animated Film

Propaganda is an animated film developed for children aged 6-12. It allows, in a gentle way using characters of different types, to deliver a message to children about the communist period and the prohibition of speaking freely. The film uses soft colors and friendly figures to help young viewers understand a difficult historical moment without fear. Through simple stories and relatable situations, children learn why free expression was dangerous back then and why it is valuable today.

Iliria Radio

Radio Iiria is a functionality designed with great love by Family Art Guides, which encourages creativity in children by allowing each child to create their own story by making different combinations. Just like a real radio, children listen to the story they have created themselves.

How It Works

Choose one combination for each row and press the PLAY button. Once you finish listening, try some other combinations and have fun.
